Role Summary/Purpose We are currently seeking a high-energy, self-motivated and dedicated engineer/scientist with proven track record to lead process design and technical proposal efforts in Brazil/Latin America reporting to Global Process Engineering Manager – Integrated Solutions CoE. The selected candidate shall have expertise in the field of water and wastewater treatment in general and particularly in the country to advise and make decisions on optimized designs for projects and effective management skills to successfully face technical challenges.Selected candidate will actively work in a team environment with principal engineers and global process engineering manager and share his/her experiences, making recommendations and providing decisive technical support to the group The selected candidate “Senior Process Engineer” is responsible for: · Develop process designs for new projects and provides support to sales team in the Country· Provide expert advise / recommendations on various treatability / optimized design options for new projects · Sits on design review team for projects for technical peer risk review to ensure the design optimization · Collection and evaluation of operating/ pilot data from plants in operation and making recommendations for response to field inquiries based on the results of the analysis · Interacting with the Project Manager, Sales, and the customers in technical meetings and present design offerings · Optimize/refine designs based on customer feed back and meeting customers requirements· Providing the input required (including supporting calculations) to prepare project related documents such as but not limited to, equipment/pump sizing, mass balance, PFD’s, and P&ID's · Assisting in the timely preparation of Process description and control descriptions· Assisting with the process/trouble shooting sections of Operation and Maintenance manuals · Finalization of Technical package for Engineering after the project is awarded· Assisting/Developing process team on new / improvement existing process engineering tools · Performing field service activities as may be assigned including: start-up, operator training, and systems performance validation · Experience in process troubleshooting and optimizing operational facilities · Working with a team of experts, drive product quality and reliability issues to root cause and corrective action using a disciplined, data-driven approach · Drafting appropriate technical documentation including engineering bulletins/fact sheets · May have to manage small team of process engineers assigned to support in the region · Provide coaching / mentoring sessions to new or young engineers in the group and groom them to next level Qualifications/Requirements – B.S. in Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline- Process engineering experience in water treatment- Experience / Exposure to Brazil and Latin America projects related to desalination, wastewater reuse and pure water- Understanding of Global water & wastewater reuse market is a plus Willing to travel internationally and locally up to 10-20% Fluent in Portuguese & English (written and verbal) Spanish is an asset Candidate required to submit to background investigation (Motor vehicle record, criminal, education and prior employment), physical evaluation and drug screen Computer proficiency with SAP, Oracle, Baan, MS Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. Master’s or PhD degree Experience in Seawater Desalination systems, wastewater reuse, Wastewater Treatment and Pure water Equipment & Processes for Pre/Post treatment (Conventional equipment, MF/UF RO, EDR, EDI, IX, MBR) Excellent quantitative, analytical, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, presentation, influencing, facilitation, and computer skills- Effective multitasking and ability to deliver on time and with quality, to make good business decision, capable of understanding / requirements identified in the technical specifications, to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, ability to write routine reports and correspondence, ability to speak effectively before groups and customers, clients, and other employees of organization, ability to apply concepts such as, ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist, ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
